All of our Quality Post Caps are made from the Best Grade of Clear, All Heart, Vertical-Grain Redwood, and Clear Western Red Cedar, so you can choose the wood species that works best for your fencing, deck or other landscaping projects. Both Cedar and Redwood have great resistance to moisture, decay and insect damage. They also have exceptional dimensional stability. Your Post Cap will lay flat, stay straight, retain fasteners and provide a firm base for many types of stains and paints, giving you a post cap that will hold up to the elements for years to come.

Our arbors, gates and pergolas are created in Western Red Cedar with the same high quality workmanship as our post caps and finials.

Slip-over Post Cap Molding Options

Slip-over post caps are available with any of the following moldings (see picture, top to bottom): Backstreet, Island, Federal. The Federal and Island moldings also have a dentil option (photo coming soon).

"We also manufacture caps and finials from mahogany, eastern white cedar, Spanish cedar, port orford cedar, oak, pine, and maple. But ordering any species other than redwood or western red cedar is a "special order" with a higher cost, and two week delivery."

What's the difference between a post cap and a finial?

	The post cap is literally a cap or hat that sits on top of a fence or gate post. Finials are decorative ornaments that sit on top of post caps.

	When shopping for post caps you will see that only some will accept a finial due to the cap design
